Oh La La!

So, I messed these up a bit.

After watching The Artist over the weekend and then watching the Oscars on Sunday (where The Artist won for Costume Design, Directing, Original Score, as well as Best Leading Actor AND the coveted Best Picture! Can you say sweet?), it felt natural to do some French-inspired nails. I used a tutorial I found on youtube. Just look up "french theme nails" and you should find it. I also included it below!
As for the movie...I've never seen a silent film before so it was kind of neat to see that part of the history of film (even if it technically isn't from the actual time in history). Who knows? Maybe I'll start going through some archives and watching some old silent films!
And how cute is this pooch? His performance in The Artist earned him Best Picture. His little bow-tie makes him completely Red Carpet appropriate. Adorable!

Academy Awards Watch Party

ACADEMY AWARDS RIGHT NOW!
Looooooove Emma Stone. She looks fantastic....as does Melissa McCarthey and Octavia Spencer. Gorgeous people, gorgeous clothes, gorgeous night. I'll be kicking back and relaxing with my General Tso's chicken :D Predictions are in BLUE and the winners are in BLACK (as they are given).

"I would like to thank the Academy..."haha, yeahhh right!
YIPPIEEE! I cycled 10 miles in under 30 minutes!!

^I also did a 30 minute vinyasa yoga routine I took off youtube^

Someone on MYYYY bike @ the gym?!

Who else can relate to this feeling?
Today's run got interrupted....by class. I decided on 3 miles but then only had enough time for 2 (with time to shower before class). I came back from class and decided to do another 2 3! Yep, combined total of 5 miles tonight! I'm so proud of myself :)
Literally, my thoughts while running. Right thurrr.

Spa Sunday/Sarah's Cousin's Visit

After a week of working out like a boss I needed some pampering! My apartment-mate and I had a "Spa Sunday" celebration with manicures, pedicures, and face masks! (all that was missing was some wine..haha) Check out the nails!
And since Sarah's cousin came to visit Etown (she's starting the college search) I did her nails yesterday:
I found the inspiration for these on pinterest.com. I loooove that site!

Also, as far as fitness goes, this week I think I did pretty well. My breakdown below is from dailymile (loooove that site). I just wanted to mention it because it's a really great community of people who value fitness and healthiness. By far one of my most visited websites these days. Ok, to the workout breakdown:
Monday: 3.5 mile run + P90x Ab Ripper :)
Tuesday: 2.2 mile run
Wednesday: rest day
Thursday: 2.16 mile run + 8 mile cycle + Karyn S (from dailymile) workout
Friday: rest day
Saturday: 2 mile run + 8 mile cycle + POP Pilates "Inner Thigh Insanity"

Alright, here's how today is going: woke up at 10ish, went to the gym, had some breakfast, and am now off to the library to spend the rest of today figuring out what my senior research is going to be. Yay! So glad I worked out before now because after hours in the library...I know I wouldn't want to workout.

Workout of today:
Run 2 miles (23 minutes) + cycle 8 miles (28 minutes) + POP Pilates "Inner Thigh Insanity" workout (13 minutes). I feel like my legs are going to be super sore tomorrow. Eh, it was well worth it. My arm soreness from Karyn S.'s workout is subsiding today.
Did I ever mention I love post-workout-next-day-soreness? It's the best signal of a great workout and I welcome it! haha
Workout of the day completed! I'm pretty proud of this workout: 2.16 miles in 21 minutes + 8 mi cycling in 32 minutes + the amazing workout I mentioned yesterday from dailymile. Basically you do 3 rounds of the following:
30 jumping jacks, 5 push ups, 25 high knees, 7 burpees, 10 crunches, 7 squats, 5 pushups, 10 crunches, 5 pushups, 7 squats, 30 jumping jacks, 1 min wall sit, 5 push ups, & 25 high knees
So awesome. I timed it because I'm used to bodyrocking and they usually time their workouts. I completed it in 21 minutes and 48 seconds. It was such a great workout. I'm so glad Karyn S. shared it!
I wish it were warm enough for the beach already. It's been raining almost all of today so I've been stuck inside (not to mention it's COLD out).
No workout today :( Wednesdays are always too busy, I literally have NO time to even tie sneakers on my feet let alone get to the gym. I guess having a rest day midweek isn't so bad. Gym tomorrow definitely though and I have a really neat workout I want to try from someone I met on dailymile. Whoop! So excited!
I am passsssing outtt. I had a fantastic day at the gym AND I donated blood for the first time ever. Now I'm off to sleep! Legal ethics exam tomorrow....yikes!

Valentine's Day Workout

Finished my workout for today. 2.2 miles in 23:13. I then did a few select bodyrock exercises: 30 plie squats, 30 lunges, and 35 tap pushups. Now I'm off to the shower and then work. Yipppie!

Happy Valentine's Day to my incredible boyfriend! This is our third Vday together and I'm so excited to be able to still call myself your valentine. I love you so much!
3.52 miles in 37:57 minutes ANNNNND I didn't stop for the whole 3.1 miles! I officially ran a 5k unofficially...haha. I also did P90x ab ripper X (you can go to this post if you want to see what P90x ab ripper consists of).

Also...very excited for the Lying Game tonight! It's one of my guilty pleasures. The clothes are fantastic though so I always watch it.
Workout of today all finished: 4 mi in 42 minutes, random ab exercises (Vsits, planks, oblique crunches, etc), + stretching. I'm really working on my splits!
My workouts this week went pretty well. I didn't bodyrock as much as I wanted but I'm definitely going to bring Zuzana back out this coming week. I've decided to list out my workouts for the upcoming week so I can try to keep track of my plans. I always try to plan a workout and then change it day of to something else. This week's workouts are:

Monday: run 2 miles + P90X ab ripper X + made-up ab routine
Tuesday: run 1.5 miles + bodyrock "Fast Burn Workout"
Wednesday: yoga + stretching
Thursday: run 2 miles + turbo fat blaster workout
Friday: run 2 miles + cycle 8 miles + ab workout
Saturday: active rest day
Sunday: run 4 miles + ab exercises + stretching

I hope I stick to these workouts! haha

Galaxy Nails

I used literally a TON of nail polishes to create this design. A friend of mine sent me a link to try this nail design and I couldn't help myself....I was so excited! I used my apartment-mate as a guinea pig. I looooove these nails. They look so cool!

Tracking Weight Loss Measurements

I was looking online for ways to track weight loss and blahblahblah without using a scale. There's no scale in the apartment and to be honest I don't really want to use one. I don't need to know exactly how much I weigh...weight doesn't really matter to me. I'm after fitness! But I did decide to track it through measurements so I bought a really cheap (about $1 lol) fashion tape measure to measure the various parts of my body. I think this is a good way, other than the tone changes and everything, to monitor what's going on. So here we go: Measure Day 1.

Bust: 36 in.
Chest: 30 in.
Waist: 30 in.
Hips: 35 in.
Thighs (R/L): 22.75/21.5
Calves (R/L): 14/14
Forearms (R/L): 9.5/9.5
Arms (R/L): 10/10.5

Alright, I think I measured literally everything! I'm going to take 4 weeks and continue to work hard and then measure again. We'll see what changes! Don't mind my super awesome workout log book (just another sign that shows you how obsesssed with bodyrock I am haha).

Accepted: Albany Law School!

Ooooh yeah! I got into another one!! Whoooop, I've been accepted :D
This is my excited face....kidding. I just wanted to show off my new USMC hoodie from my pops! Love it!

All done at the gym already for today! 1.5 miles in 16:38, cycled 8 miles in 24 minutes, and spent about 10 doing POP Pilates "Crazy Core Workout" working out my abs. Oh yeahhh! The POP Pilates girl is so adorable and motivating. I definitely had fun while feeling my abs burn. I think I'll start including her workouts as a staple in mine!
Yay for going to the gym today! 3.02 miles in 32 minutes. Whoop!! AND I can cross of one of my February goals: I made a list of things I wanted to complete in the month of February and one of them was "Run 2 miles WITHOUT stopping." And I did it!! Yay! I feel like I should treat myself to something small...like some green grapes or something. I don't know, I'm just excited! Next up...no breaks for 3 miles!

I also did a Zuzana workout from Bodyrock (I love bodyrock). It's called "Fit Ass Exercise." If you click the link it will take you to the web page with all the info.

My legs are so tired. It felt so good to stretch them out! It was 100 jump squats and then a step up onto a chair. Yeah. Phew! I completed it in 23:34! If you try this workout, let me know what your time is!
Ugh! This week's workouts were....nonexistent. Yes, that's right. I literally only did 2 miles on...Monday? Then it was shark week (grossss) so I didn't work out at all and my boyfriend ended up coming to visit me for the weekend so I didn't work out at all.

Other than feeling like a serious heffer now that I munched up super bowl goodies and some cookies I made (I hear ya!) it's time to whip my bum back into shape and get it back in the gym. I was showing my boyfriend, A, "The Body Shop," which is the gym on campus, and I saw a new challenge!!
That's right. 178 miles by 3/2/12. I currently have....18.98 mi. 178 might be a little extreme since that means I have to run like...6 miles PER DAY and yeah, you got that right, there's no way that's happening. I already know some of those days will dedicated bodyrock days that I won't run on. I think I can do it though if I add in some biking! Alright, challenge accepted: 178 miles by 3/12/12. Oh boy! Anyway, I feel like I haven't slept in 5 days. Time for a shower and some Zzzzzzzz! I can't wait for my run tomorrow!
