My First French?? Really?

Always something exciting going on over here! My grades came in from this past semester at law school and...I kicked butt if I do say so myself!! I'm very very pleased and it was such a relief to start my second semester already knowing my GPA wasn't going to be a worry.

Anyway, after the results came in I decided to take a chance and I sent a bunch of cover letters and resumes to a few local law firms looking for a summer internship. Someone in Heaven is watching out for me and I got contacted by not one but TWO law firms to come in and interview!! Luckily, a huge part of my Christmas swag this year was professional attire so I knew just what to wear.
                                                                                  Me looking all fancy->

Officially, I have been offered both internship opportunities...so now I have to decide! Yay!!

Of course, even MORE important than the clothes...the nails. Because lawyers are conservative (boringgg) I took off my colorful manicure and replaced it with a simple French Manicure. It dawned on me that I don't think I've ever done a French on my own nails before. They came out clean and I'm still rocking them.
I've got a summer internship! WAHOO!

Sister S went on vacation!

I love when my sister goes on vacation!! I’ll be eating two of those milk chocolate macadamias after I work out!
S and her boyfriend went on vacation with his family to Hawaii this past week. I'm a little jealous because I love to chillax on a beach as much as the next person but I never get to go on vacation because I'm either broke or in school. Bummerrrr. Anyway, I love when S travels because she always spoils me with little goodies when she gets back. For her Hawaii trip S brought me some yummy chocolate macadamia cookies, chocolate coated macadamias, a hula girl pen, a sea glass bracelet, and hula girl post-its. Love it all!

Might be a little fancy for running but...

This hairstyle is one of my "go to" favorites because it's sooo easy to do and takes literally five seconds (or however long it takes you to french braid your hair). If you're ever running late or short on time just give this a try. All you need is a tiny hair elastic (easier to hide when you flip the braid in) and a spin pin or two.
Simple Style Spin Pin Detail
All you have to do is french braid your hair (secure it with the elastic) and then flip it (and secure with a spin pin or two). See? It's that easy!
Might be a bit fancy for working out but…I never took it out from my interview! By the way: I got the internship! Now I just have to see about my second interview!

City Nights

Just found this on my computer. <3 Miss my city nights with Andrew!
Just found this while I was stumbling around on my computer. I miss my city weekends with the boyfriend.

Happy New Year from Zoya!!

I loooooove these deals!! You can pick any 3 Zoya polishes you want and the total is only the cost of shipping!
For this sale I'm going to have two additional people order with me so I can get: Moxie, Indigo, Natty, Crystal, Kristen, Lotus, Jo, and Zuza! Zuza is definitely going to be my favorite!

Caviar Manicure

Today's manicure is a Caviar Manicure a la Ciate paint pots.
Never did a manicure like this before but I really like the texture and the look of it a lot. Hopefully the beads will stay put for longer than an hour though. I might be trekking back to my parent's house this weekend and I'd like my mom to see it intact!

For this look I used: Ciate Power Dressing and Ciate Caviar Pearls in Prom Queen.

Christmas Polish Swag 2012

Merry Christmas (for those who celebrate it) and Happy New Year everyone! I feel like I always blog about  nail polish related goodies are dropped off by Santa each year. This year continued the tradition of nail polish, remover, cotton balls, accessories, etc. My Christmas swag of 2012.
The colorful thing in the back is the Ciate "Mini Mani Month advent calendar." I don't know much about the Ciate brand at all because this is the first I've seen it. So far I like the polishes I've tried though. Each number square hid a bottle of nail polish in a random color. The bottles are adorable...they even have little bows on them. Also, there were a few bottles that contained tiny pearls (the left top and bottom right in the picture below) that can be used for "Caviar manicures." You bet I'll be giving that a try just as soon as I post this. Can't wait to share!!
Then there was my standby Sally's Beauty Secret Acetone nail polish remover. I'll probably blog eventually about the different nail polish removers I've used but for now and ID is good enough.

Polishes: The title "First new polishes of 2013" goes to....China Glaze Latticed Lilac, China Glaze Cracked Medallion, Finger Paints Signed in Wine, Sally Hansen Plum's the Word, Avon Mosaic Effects Top Coat, Avon Decadence, and all the Ciate minis. Phew, a bunch of new manicures to try already! Wahoo!

Accessories and mani-helpers: Avon nail glitter Iridescent (the big white/silver pot on the bottom), Sinful Colors Glitterazzi, and Sephora by OPI Pink Nail Glitter. I think Santa wants me to experiment with some nail glitters in 2013.

Thanks to Santa for feeding my polish addiction and spoiling me with a TON of new goodies! I am one very lucky girl!

Christmas Stash 2012

Okay, so we all know how *OBSESSED* with France I am. It's true. I'm hopelessly interested in anything and everything French (my neighbor is from France isn't that crazy?). Anyway, behold part of my Christmas presents from my older sister, S:
I LOVE my Eiffel Tower wine rack that my sister gave to me for Christmas!

Yes that's right. A freaking Eiffel Tower wine rack! S and I would love to become some serious wine-o's...but we're just starting our cork collections. Here's to many fun, wine-filled nights in the future!
