Toetally Tuesday #3 - Candy Canes

Normally candy and toe nails probably wouldn't mix too well (ick, now I'm thinking about my feet and peanut butter cups--gross) but today I think they are rather comfortable together. Or maybe they still look a little weird. What gave me this idea was Food Network's "Unwrapped," a show my roomie and I happened to turn on. They were doing a part on Candy Canes and the light bulb went off in my head.  TA-DA! Candy cane toenails for the THIRD Toetally Tuesday post:

I used New York Color Mulberry Street, Jordana Holiday Red, 

and Color Club Art Club Green. Then made it shiny with a coat

of Seche Vite!

And I've been slacking with the Hanukkah nails: 7th day I think?

Anyone else look forward to Christmas (or just the winter if you don't celebrate) for the candy canes? I can't say I'm fond of the peppermint ones but I remember my sister and I always eating all the fun flavored ones my Dad would buy. Mmmm, bubblegum was my favorite. What's your favorite candy cane flavor?

Hey everyone! Hope your Mondays weren't too bad. Monday is my least favorite day of the week what with having to go back to classes, wake up early, etc. However, it is my last week of classes before finals and for that I'm not hating on Mondays so much today. Tonights nails are kind of random but I wanted to finally use this color! Here they are:

For these simple nails I used ULTA professionals Alter Ego and a MonsterBundle plate 5 for the star in Sinful Colors Tokyo Pearl.


Countdown to Christmas: 19 Days!! Hope everyone's preparations (for those who celebrate it) are going well!

Let it Snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Hip, hip, hooray! Today is Saturday! Do you know what was a nice surprise when I was walking back from breakfast? It was flurrying a little! Totally makes these nails relevant! Also, I swatched the background color for you all too!

The base is Orly Blue Suede from the Orly Plastix Collection. It is a matte polish (1 of 3 that I own) but I decided to put a top coat over it anyway on my left hand since I love a shiny finish. I'm including my right hand just to show the matte polish finish. For the light snowflakes I used BundleMonster plate 14 and Sinful Colors Tokyo Pearl (which needs to be swatched). The snowman was created with Orly White Out and Color Club Art Club in Red Glitter, Black, and Orange. This hand has a top coat of Orly Won't Chip.

And the swatches of Orly Blue Suede! I'm not a huge fan of matte but this might change my mind a bit!

Mani/Pedi Party

Tonight is the third night of Hanukkah and here are the nails (ok I cheated and I've already "lit" each candle...I think that's ok though):

either dark blue, yellow, orange, or silver :)

Also, I think my roomie and I are going to be doing manis and pedis tomorrow! And of course by "my roomie and I are going to be" I mean "I will be". ;)

Countdown to Christmas: 22 days!

Hey ladies and gents! So the title is "Happy Hanukkah" in Hebrew (or at least it should be...I googled it). Today is the first FULL day of Hanukkah and I thought it could be neat, despite the fact that I don't celebrate Hanukkah, to do some holiday appropriate nails. So here goes my attempt at a Menorah (with two candles now) and the Jewish star on my thumb.

I used Orly White Out as a base with Kiss Brush On Nail Art 

Paint in silver, Color Club Art Club in yellow and orange for

 the flame, and Color Club Art Club in Dark Blue for the star. 

And of course, since Christmas is coming and I said Christmas nails would be done throughout the countdown, another set of Christmas nails! Once again, I'm breaking it in slowly, it is only the 2nd of December after all!

I sponged Orly White Out over a base of Ulta Cocktail Waitress. Then I used Color Club Art Club in Red and Green for the lines on three nails. Ruffian-ed (a word?) the index and ring finger by sponging on Orly White Out. Finished with BundleMonster plate 14 stamped in China Glaze Salsa. Coats of Orly Won't Chip all around.

The Days of Christmas! and my FIRST BLOGGER AWARD!

Happy first of December everybody! For everyone who celebrates Christmas, only 24 days to go! I'm so excited between the holiday sales, holiday music, holiday decorations, and everything else going on hinting at upcoming holidays I decided holiday nails were in order. AND they will be in order until the 25th of December, CHRISTMAS DAY! So, journey with me through the 25 days of Christmas. I figured to start in a little slower, I know some people (like my roommate) hate the new bombardment of Christmas music 24/7 on some stations and I don't want to jump in too quickly with crazy Christmas nail delights in only the first week of December. So here we go, easing our way into the holiday season with green and red tips :) Hope you all like!

For these I used Orly Liquid Vinyl (seriously do I ever use any other black polish? lol) as a base with China Glaze Outta Bounds and ULTA Cocktail Waitress alternating as the tips. I used Color Club Art Club in white as a divider and for the design on the ring finger. Finished with a couple Kiss Brush On Nail Art Paint in Silver Glitter and a coat of ULTA clear coat.

Design X - Toetally Tuesday 2

Hi all, hope you're all having a great day! :)  It's time for the second ever Toetally Tuesday post!! Just don't ask me what it's supposed to be because I have no idea. Tiger print? I don't know. It didn't start off that way and honestly, it's kinda boring. I used one of my new troops NYC Mulberry Street and Kiss Brush On Nail Art Paint in Black to make....whatever that design is. Hm, not one of my favorites. Anyway, here the toes are: Design X.

Leaf Me Alone

Here we go, after swatching a couple polishes today (now located in either the previous post or the "Swatches" tab above for your enjoyment), I have created my Thanksgiving appropriate nails! ALSO, since I didn't want to just paint my nails and then take the polish off I decided to make them fit for the fall season as well. Feast your eyes (lol feast, how appropriate when talking about Thanksgiving!) on these Turkey and Leaves nails :D

There we go, we have fall leaves (which I do believe was a request from my sister not too long ago now that I think about it) and a Thanksgiving turkey. I used China Glaze Solar Power, OPI Flit A Bit, and China Glaze Foxy for the background (Yay! I finally learned how to sponge gradients...kind of. ;) ) Then I used Color Club Art Club in Black and BundleMonster plates 10 and 19 for the two stamped designs. For the turkey I used China Glaze Solar Power as a base, OPI Holiday Glow for the turkey body, Color Club Art Club in yellow/red/orange for the feathers and white and black for the eyes. Not too shabby if I do say so myself!

Also, oh my gosh, I was perusing nail art blogs  and I came across one that contained something absolutely fantastic. In a page entitled "Symptoms" on the blog Polish Hoarder Disorder the blogger lists all the symptoms of said disorder. Of course, with me being me and all, it piqued my interest. This is the symptom that made me crack up...because it was so true:

"You have a hard time deciding on a color for your manicure because there 

are too many choices. In the meantime, you paint each fingernail a different color 

and wait until one "speaks to you" "

I have returned!

With new goodies! I'll be posting swatches of them up throughout the day. Man, that was a busy break. Luckily I did find time to purchase some kickass new polishes! And I still promise to catch up with a Thanksgiving design and whatever the second thing was I wanted to do!

I do apologize for my lack of clean up with these but I was just so excited to get a new post going I couldn't wait!

Bring on the turkey!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! 

Here's the deal...I drove home and *GASP* didn't bring any nail polishes with me that are good for Turkey day nails! :o I know, I'm so disappointed! But anyway, I really was looking forward to doing something festive and here's my idea: I'm going to do some Thanksgiving day inspired nails when I get back to school. It's so lame because it will be late but I already have my idea and all! Hmm, or maybe this is an excuse to go buy polishes maybe??? As if I need an excuse to buy nail polishes! Lol

Until then, I think I'll just relax and watch all the Thanksgiving parades I can on TV. Did you know Kermit the Frog is the longest float? It's something around like 80 feet.
