Something Blue

I'm excited for the royal wedding tomorrow! My roomie and I are waking up at 6 in the morning to start watching the ceremony. I've bought some goodies (like tea, scones, tea sandwich fixings) and we're going to have a lovely English tea time. We're such dorks but hey, why not? Everyone dreams of becoming a princess and Kate Middleton gets to actually do it!
For these nails I used China Glaze For Audrey, Icing Mint 2 Be, and Essence Silver Pearl.

I'm seeing double...

...double the color that is.

Hey everyone! I'm home for Easter break and I figured I could do a bit of nail painting. These nails are heading in the Easter direction and I'll probably have more throughout the weekend. :)
I used OPI The Color to Watch for the lighter purple and China Glaze Coconut Kiss for the darker.

It's a little bit dottie

Hey guys, today I have a nail design for you. It's simple and it's not much but I was in a very red kind of mood so I slapped some Zoya Kristi on and went with it. Then I grabbed China Glaze Hybrid and made a couple dots on the ring finger with my dotting tool. Voila, my nails of the day. I'm thinking of starting some Easter designs soon!

Swatch: Alter Ego

Hey everyone! Tonight's post is a swatch post of Ulta's Alter Ego. It's a darkish blue shimmer and it's really fun to have on my nails. It keeps catching my eye when I move my hand.

Fauxnad for the Weekend

Phew, stressful week with tons of stuff to do has just came to an end. Now I get to relax and enjoy the weekend (and do minimal schoolwork). This manicure is a little older. I used New York Color Mulberry Street and China Glaze Coconut Kiss for the stamp (BM3). I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Celebrating Mardi Gras a little late.

Hey everyone! I have an exam I should be studying for but I just wanted to post a brief little something for you guys. These are from a couple days ago but I still want to share them. They may or may not come off as a little "mardi gras" but eh, maybe that's what I was going for.
I used China Glaze For Audrey, China Glaze Flying Dragon, and my gold icing stripe polish.

Swatch: First Mate

Hey readers!

Today's post is another swatch post (tomorrow should be a design :D ). I chose China Glaze's First Mate since I was in a very blue polish kind of mood. First Mate was given to me by my older sister a couple months ago back when the collection was new. I wore it the week she gave it to me but I forgot to take a swatch picture! So here we go: First Mate

The application was awesome, very pigmented and smooth. I'll give it a 9.
The color is one I really like. I have a ton of blues but I will never get sick of them. I'll give it an 8.
Drying and hardening was great too! I find China Glaze to dry pretty quick usually (despite my 3 coats of polish).
Konadability is great for lighter colors but no so much on darker polishes.
Wear has been pretty good, a couple days with no major chips or anything. I'm impressed. I just had China Glaze Pool Party on my nails and they chipped literally the same day I put the polish on. I was so disappointed.

Here's the swatches:

Toetally Tuesday #17 - Nail Fail

Yikes is all I can say about these poor toes. I had such an idea for them but then when I put the base coat on it wasn't what I was expecting and I couldn't pick a color that I thought would look good with so...here's what I've got. On the plus side I've already removed this mess and replaced with bright pink toes (which matched the sunny and 70 weather we had outside yesterday more than the 50 and rainy weather of today). Here is...a Nail Fail.
The base was China Glaze In Awe of Amber with China Glaze For Audrey for the tips (which aren't straight or anything but...eh). These were just a mess. Better luck next time!

A little bare?

Hello everyone! Today's nails are a tropical (I think that's what it's called) with literally no polish as a base and Zoya Dawn as the tip. I wanted to see if I could just use a strip of polish across the top and still come out with a nice manicure. Thanks to Seche Vite, I think it doesn't look horrible :)

Swatch: Towel Boy Toy

Today was actually nice out! I was so excited when I could don flipflops and only a light sweatshirt when I stepped outside. I have a good bit of work to do for school so this post will have to be quick. I decided on doing another swatch post. This time it's China Glaze Towel Boy Toy. TBT is a bright blue (almost neon but not) shimmer (kinda) from the China Glaze Poolside Collection. I loooove this color because it makes me think of summer and the beach and hanging out with my sister. Check out the gorgeous blue color!

These all have 3 coats and a Seche Vite top coat. How beautiful is this blue? Doesn't it just make you want to go outside and take a walk? As for the vitals I'm going to give it an 8 for color since I'm pretty sure you could find a dupe if you looked for one, an 8 for application, a 9 for drying/hardening (it really dried fast), I haven't tested Konadability yet, and a 7 for wear since it chipped three days later.

Little Layering

Hi everyone. Today's manicure is one made from layering two polishes. I always forget I have some gorgeous glitters I could be using over my polishes. These nails are China Glaze For Audrey and OPI Simmer & Shimmer. I was watching Burlesque today after Housing Selection for my college (we got the apartment we wanted!!) and so I wanted to use a polish from the OPI Burlesque collection. Simmer & Shimmer was perfect!
