Ohio State Football is on today! I've never done buckeye nails before and so I thought now would be a good time. I love doing red nails and I jazzed then up with an Ohio State "O"....go BUCKEYES!!

If you know me, this post is rather humorous because I'm not a football fan. Sure, I'll watch a game if I have to but you won't catch me rooting on a football game by myself. Even so, there's an Eagles game against the Redskins tonight and I wanted to sport festive fingers for my "home team." Also, I think I'll celebrate with some cheese, crackers, and pepperoni.
I didn't have a football color brown so I mixed OPI Holiday Glow and China Glaze Chocodisiac. To make the turf I sponged Zoya Verushka over China Glaze Tree Hugger.
Ut-oh, who is a MOH?!

In case anyone is still unaware, my older sister is engaged and will be getting married in 2015 (as blogged about so far here, here, and here). Well, I have been asked to be her "MOH"...Maid of Honor!! I'm so excited =) I had been campaigning pretty hard (just kidding) and she finally asked me when I was home over Labor Day weekend! Wahoo! She always does things in style so she had created a little package (the wrapping is the black and white sheet behind the blue glitter photo book) to ask me. The card asked me to be her Maid of Honor and then the other things were little goodies: a tiny bottle of champagne (which we'll pop next time she's over), a photo book filled with some preliminary wedding info, a beautiful book on Paris that she bought the day they got engaged in New York, and a nail polish (how perfect?!) in a shade she's considering for her bridesmaids gowns. Naturally, a manicure was in store!
Also, because you can't really see the polish in the picture (it looks a lot more blue than gray in the photo) here is a closer look:
See? Much less blue.
Hooray! Happy Back to School!

Sorry for the angle! It was so large my phone couldn't capture the entire thing!
As with anything, I felt a manicure was in order! Some scrabble tile nails:
I sooo hope a teacher sees this post and will use the idea for their own boards at some point!

This design is a copy of one I found on Pinterest but I really liked the combination of colors so I couldn't change it. Also, the black separator was awesome.
For this design I used: OPI, Curry Up Don't Be Late, Zoya Robyn, and Color Club Art Club in Black.
Best Beach Day Polish

This polish is amazing. It lasted through two entire days at the beach with huge waves, sand everywhere, and playing with cousins and it STILL looks perfect. I'm really impressed with it...as if I need another reason to love Zoya nail polish.

Today's post (after about a thousand year hiatus) is both a mani and pedi post. I really wanted to use Zoya Mira in a design because it's such an amazing color and is probably one of my favorites in my collection. Although it's sort of dark, I still get the spring/summer vibe from it and I figured I could lighten it up even more with a fun design. Enter pinwheels and polka dots!
For the next four days I'll be relaxing on the beaches of Ocean City Maryland with my dad, brother, and some extended family from Ohio! I'm so excited. I haven't seen them in...years! *Fingers crossed that I get a little bit of a tan*

Three years ago I finished designing and preparing this little blog here and uploaded my first manicure/pedicure post. Again, the basis for the blog was just to allow me to keep track of all the designs I try so that I could redo them if I want. Yes, it was my sister's idea. Yes, it is still so much fun and I love uploading each and every post I write (I hope whoever reads them likes them too!)
Nail blog aside. How cute is this cake??
I took this photo off of Google images so no, I'm not also an amazing baker.
Although, if I could make cakes like that I'd drop out of law school and open a bakery!
Color Run Philadelphia 5k

Today's post celebrates a little something my sister and I did today....we participated in the Color Run Philadelphia!! She's recently hopped on the fitness train and I couldn't be more proud of her progress and how far she's come. We completed 3.1 miles (ok we didn't run the whole thing) in our first 5k. It was so much fun and I am seriously covered in paint right now! To match the mess that I call my clothing, hair, and skin...colorful nails were in order. Before the race I painted both my sister and my nails all white and then sponged on the random colors using a foundation sponge (so it would look like the paint being thrown on us). I know this is usually the technique for gradients but I am SO bad at them. At least with this I don't have to worry about blending! And I love the way it looked.
And just because I can...a race recap in photos! It truly is "the happiest 5k on the planet," seriously!!
Next up, a 10k Tough Mudder Race! ...or a nap.
