3/20/12: WOD + Free Rita's

For today I tried something new! I actually made up my ab routine that I did from old gymnastics exercises. I used the old gymnastics names but I'm pretty sure everyone still knows what I'm talking about. Check it out:
  1. 25 Crunches
  2. 25 V-Ups
  3. 25 Toe Touches
  4. 25 Rowers (when you balance on your butt and act like you're rowing)
  5. 25 Butt Lifts (lay on your back in a pike position and lift your butt off the floor--lower abs)
  6. 25 Lemon Squeezers
  7. 25 Oblique Crunches Left
  8. 25 Oblique Crunches Right
  9. 25 Split Switches
  10. 25 Side shimmies
  11. 25 Leg Raisers
And that's it! That's my 275 Rep "Awesome Abs" workout. Give it a try if you want. I think next time I'm going to go through it twice...since I'm not feeling it at all (very disappointing)

Cardio: 10 mile cycle (40ish minutes)

And it's the first day of spring! Treat yourself to some Ritas (it's free)!!
New week. New goal. My goal is to continue to eat healthy AND do some more yoga!

My workout today went a little something like this: 12.39 miles cycle (50 minutes) + 1.05 (11 minutes) run

Also, check out these delicious snacks I made:
Sliced cherry tomatoes, sliced avocado, a bit of low fat (whatever that means) vegetable cream cheese all layered on my wheat Goya crackers. At least I think they're Goya....I threw the box away and have no idea. They're a really tough cracker so it's perfect. Sooooo delicious!

In case you didn't already know....
The Voice and Smash are on tonight!!

Week Recap

I'm pretty proud of this week's workouts and mile total. Very cool!
I'm feeling very good about my training and  I'm really working on my diet.

3/15/2012: WOD

Pressed for workout time today. I only got half hour of P90X Yoga done and 1.05 miles in about 9:4something time. Still better than no workout but I wish I could have done more!!

3/14/2012: WOD

For today's workout I did POP Pilates Slimmer Thinner Thighs and Runner's Calves workout. Even though it was only about 17 minutes...my calves were killing me by the end.

I also did ZWOW #8 (Zuzana's Workout of the Week).

As far as cardio goes: 2 miles in 23 minutes exactly. 219 calories :) I'm really cracking down on my diet. I'm working on taking out cheese and incorporate more greens and whole grains.

Areas of concern to work on: muffin top/abdominals and thighs (I'm not looking for a thigh gap--I have gymnast muscles under there that won't allow that--I'm just looking for some tone)

3/12/12: WOD

Workout of the Day. Finally! You all didn't think I would continue being lazy did you?! Confession: I was a little scattered for this workout today. I couldn't get my breathing right.

3.01 miles in 35 minutes + 6.07 mi cycling in 18 minutes + 1.03 mi cool down in 12:03 minutes

So yeah, broke my running in half but...a combined total of 4 miles running and 6 miles cycling isn't so bad. Oh yeah, the 500+ calorie burn doesn't hurt either.

ANOTHER LAW SCHOOL

It's official. I could never get tired of opening envelopes with good news like the following:
I was accepted to Duquesne University School of Law!
Unfortunately, the letter was sent to my house instead of here at the apartment and so my dad called to let me know the good news! Wahoo! Add another one to the list!!

Accepted: New England Law | Boston

am such a fatty! I haven't worked out in...2 weeks?! For real. I wish I had a better excuse but really I don't. That in mind, here goes my excuse conga line:

Spring break from my college + visiting law school in Boston + being lazy = no workouts

However, walked 4 miles around Boston :) so I guess that kind of counts! And whyyy was I in Boston?? Well, to go for a tour around:
New England Law|Boston
It was so awesome, the building was clean (and the city, shockingly) and it is in an amazing location. It's not even 5 blocks from South Station (train station we got in at), across the street from the school is a Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, PF Changs, bank, etc, up the street is a few more places to eat, and down the block is the Boston Commons. It is so cool and I got really excited for what's coming up next August. I can't wait to start law school! I still haven't made my mind up though since it's a huuuuge decision and will put me $$$$$$ in debt. Right now it's between New England Law|Boston, Widener Law, and Albany Law. Still pulling for Akron Law but we'll see. The picture above was taken from the balcony at the hotel we stayed at. How convenient is that? A hotel right across the street from the law school. I know. What do they always say? Location location location?

Oh yeah, and while I was there..my dad and I had a drink at Cheers!
